Previously we have commissioned the American Artist J.Paul Nesse to make a bronze sculpture of the Le Mans winning Porsche 917.
This time we asked him to create a bronze of the colourful Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.0. This car raced back in 1975 in the Camel Imsa GT series by its owner, Ludwig Heimrath (German born Canadian).
Hereafter are the race results for the 1975 season of Ludwig Heimrath with his Porsche:
|1-2/02||Daytona 24-hours||Heimrath||DNF – Accident|
|26/05||Lime Rock||Heimrath||Heat1 :8 th
|01/06||Mid Ohio||Heimrath||7 th|
|12/07||Watkins Glen 6 hours||Heimrath-Bartling||8 th O.A.|
|30/11||Daytona finale||Heimrath||DNF – Accident|
You will notice that his car never raced at Laguna Seca, but still we decided that it would be a perfect setting for the bronze. It felt like a fitting tribute to the car, especially as J. Paul Nesse wanted to make the bronze debut at the October 2011 Rennsport Reunion IV at Laguna Seca. We opted to position the car in the famous dip of the well know Corkscrew bend in the Laguna Seca circuit.
As we already became accustomed with his earlier work, again, this bronze truly delivers. The massive round body of the car is very well formed, all finished with a beautiful weathering.
The positioning of the car on the track works like a charm.
Indeed, we are very proud to be able to publish these pictures on this work of art on our website.
Watch this space as we will commission most certainly J.Paul Nesse and other artists for other works of art.
For those who are craving for more or want to see their own personal dream
realized: we welcome you to discuss any eventual project and we will be happy to serve as a consultant between you and the artists.
